ownCMS started as a tool we built for ourselves. The first site it ran was Stevens Interactive. Then it ran sites for our clients, and they trusted it with their pages, their news and their front doors. We're grateful to every one of them. It was simple and fast, it stayed out of the way, and it did its job for ten years.
Stevens Interactive is sticking around. It's now Stevens Intelligence, and we're building what comes next.
About these numbers
- Client-days in service: for each site, the days from its first record to its last edit, added up across all 21 sites. Time a site kept being served after its last edit isn't counted.
- Sites powered: distinct client accounts that have content. Duplicate records, test accounts and spam sign-ups are left out.
- Content items: every item stored in ownCMS (stories, pages, images, events, videos, ads and more). 3,883 of them are news stories. It also counts 113 distinct files (PDFs, slide decks and documents) that stories linked to in cloud storage, each counted once.
- Sites edited for more than 5 years / longest run: first record to last edit for one site.
- Last edit: October 31, 2026.
- Source: a read-only count of ownCMS's own database on November 2, 2026. Linked files were counted from the links in stored stories. Traffic wasn't counted, so it isn't shown.
